Overcoming Overdose @ OSU: OSU Student Health's Alcohol & Other Drug Prevention team will host a lunch-and-learn workshop for students and staff, noon to 1 p.m. April 4, in MU 109. Overdose deaths among youth and young adults have increased in recent years, and the most common drugs involved are synthetic opioids including fentanyl. This workshop will allow students and staff to actively participate by providing resources (including Narcan kits and face shields for CPR), preventative education related to substance misuse, and an opportunity to positively impact the resiliency of our student population. Lunch provided for the first 50 registered guests.
Get Practical About Podcasting: How to be a good host or guest: How do we harness podcasting for science communication? This panel presentation and workshop will give you practical advice on how you can use podcasting as a way to communicate science. Panelists will include Rachel Robertson (science communicator) and Desirée Tullos (professor) from College of Engineering. Monthly Emergency Preparedness Topic: Flooding. Flooding occurs in Oregon due to our seasonal rainfall, summer fires, melting snow, new development and levees/dams. All influence how water is absorbed or directed downstream. Philomath lane closures on U.S. 20 beginning March 2024: Drivers in Philomath will see lane closures with flaggers helping to direct traffic on Main Street between 11th and 14th streets. Phased road repair and repaving work will begin March 2024 and continue through the summer. During the lane closures, there will be times when traffic is restricted on 11th, 12th and 14th streets.
Pride Center: As part of the Pride Center Renovation project, the entrance to the B2 parking lot on SW A Avenue (west of the Pride Center) will be closed daily from 7 a.m.-4 p.m., April 1-5. Vehicles will be able to exit only from this lane. Alternate entrances to the parking lot will be available on SW 17th Street and SW 15th Street.
