Cape Perpetua: Andrew Myers says, “Creative Coast is an experiential learning, creative field study course co-taught by senior instructors of art Michael Boonstra and myself at Cape Perpetua Scenic Area on the Oregon coast during zero week of summer term. Students, faculty and visiting artists and researchers spend a week camping at Cape Perpetua and documenting their experiences through various media culminating in a creative field work collection project. A second version of the course will happen at the end of this summer at Playa Center for Art and Science at Summer Lake, Oregon.”

Registration open for OSU Extension’s Tree School Field Day: Oregon’s largest outdoor learning day for woodland caretakers and tree enthusiasts returns to Hopkins Demonstration Forest on Saturday, Oct. 5. The day will include a roster of field-based workshops, demonstrations and self-guided learning stations that students can choose from. We have $15K of funding available to help. The OSU Advantage Accelerator is currently seeking applications that describe technology-based projects in any discipline that will move OSU-owned technologies closer to commercialization. NEW! Oregon Sea Grant Legislative Fellowship 2024-2025: Oregon Sea Grant is accepting applications for the 2024-2025 State Legislative Fellowship. The fellowship is for graduate students or people who have recently completed their graduate degree based in Oregon with a passion for marine and coastal policy issues. The fellowship will occur during the Oregon legislative session, and applications are due by Friday, Oct. 4. As a fellow, you will provide technical expertise on marine and coastal issues to legislators, prepare timely reports on current coastal issues for Sea Grant and other interested parties, and gain valuable insight into the legislative process as it pertains to coastal and ocean issues. Request for application and the OSG Scholars website. A Q&A session takes place from 2-2:30 p.m., Sept. 17. NEW! Revised University Standard: 07-310 Weapons, Dangerous Chemicals and Destructive Devices. This policy prohibits the possession, use, or threatened use of dangerous chemicals, weapons or destructive devices on university-owned or -controlled property, or at university events held on property not owned or controlled by the university. Exceptions exist for university sanctioned uses, such as classroom activities or ROTC. Traffic and Maintenance

Campus Way: As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, SW Campus Way between SW 26th Street and SW Memorial Place will be closed Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 20. The closure is necessary to allow for crane activity related to the project. The Kelley Engineering Center south entrance will also be closed. The north sidewalk and both bicycle lanes in this section of Campus Way will be closed during this time period. The south sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians. A bicycle detour will be provided.
