Steve Clark is a spokesperson for OSU. He said state funding has lagged behind inflation, and student tuition has had to fill in the gaps. “We prompt students to borrow more, or in some cases to work one, two or three jobs during the school year to be able to afford their contribution to the cost of higher education,” said Clark.

After a pandemic hiatus of several years, a major Native American cultural event is coming back to Oregon State University. The last time dancers and drummers gathered inside OSU’s Gill Coliseum for the Klatowa Ina Pow-Wow was 2019. After COVID-19 hit Oregon that spring, organizers postponed it to keep people safe.
“That’s a web of a combination that’s causing a heck of a lot of problems,” said Daniel Leavell, a longtime firefighter and fire specialist at Oregon State University.
A $200 million Oregon State University project gained unanimous approval from Corvallis’ Historic Resource Commission last week. The Jen-Hsun and Lori Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex, designed by ZGF Architects, is planned for a site within the 166-acre OSU National Historic District. Robotic Sound Research Study: The Oregon State University Department of Mechanical Engineering is conducting a research study to better understand how people interact with robots that sound different. The study lasts for about 45 minutes. The full study title is “Evaluating Sonification for Interactive Robots” and the principal investigator is Prof. Naomi Fitter. Taste testers wanted: The OSU Center for Sensory & Consumer Behavior Research is looking for new panelists for consumer taste tests.
