Gardeners tend to think of fall as the time to put bulbs in the ground, but the warm soil and increasing moisture make it a great time to plant most anything, according to Brooke Edmunds, an Oregon State University Extension Service horticulturist. Transplanting can also be done now, though it’s best to move plants that have started to go dormant. If you’ve got a plant that’s still actively growing, flag it and transplant in spring.

Monthly Emergency Preparedness Topic: Preparedness Kits. Preparedness kits help bridge the emergency or disaster until normalcy can be restored. Kit recommendations range from 24 hours to 14 days, from personal to vehicle to workplace and household sizes. UPDATED! $15K of Funding Available: The OSU Advantage Accelerator is seeking applications that describe technology-based projects that will move OSU-owned technologies closer to commercialization. Proposals should describe a project that requires $15,000 or less of funding to achieve an important milestone(s) connected to commercialization. Proposals can include expenses for activities related to customer discovery, prototyping, student time, research, commercialization plan development and more.
