Master's Thesis Defense: Layla Ghazi will present her thesis titled "Concentration-runoff relationships of contrasting small mountainous rivers in the Pacific Northwest, USA: Insights into the weathering of rhenium," Feb. 17, 2 p.m. via a hybrid mode in Burt 193 and on Zoom. University Budget Committee: The Committee will meet Feb. 18 from 2-3:30 p.m. via Zoom. The UBC is OSU’s advisory body to the Provost for recommendations on tuition rates, budget priorities and budget policies. Settler records and settler constructions of what it means to be have long impacted Indigenous people of California. NEW! $15K of Funding Available: The OSU Advantage Accelerator is currently seeking applications that describe technology-based projects in any discipline that will move OSU-owned technologies closer to commercialization. Proposals should describe a project that requires $15,000 or less of funding to achieve an important milestone(s) connected to commercialization. Each project may be awarded up to $15,000 and should span 9 months or less, beginning in April 2022. Proposals are due by 5 p.m. on Feb. 28. Learn more and apply.

SNAP Eligibility Income Increase: SNAP is a federal program that provides eligible participants with $234 a month for grocery funding and the Oregon income eligibility criteria recently increased. The Human Services Resource Center at OSU raises awareness about this resource and provides application assistance to U.S. citizens who make less than $2147 a month, or are work-study eligible or have a 0 EFC score on their FAFSA. For information: SNAP.HSRC@oregonstate.edu.

OSU "Out of the Darkness" Campus Walk: Walk with us to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. The Oregon State University Out of the Darkness Campus Walk will feature a resource fair, speakers, honor bead ceremony and campus walk. This event is a collaboration with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and is open to all. Bi-Mart Autopay Program: Effective April 1, OSU’s Autopay agreement with Bi-Mart will end. As a result of this change, OSU employees will no longer be able to direct bill purchases from Bi-Mart to a department index. Bi-Mart has indicated they will not be entering into direct bill agreements with individual OSU departments. Starting in April, it is recommend to use a University Credit Card to make purchases from Bi-Mart. If needed, please reach out to the Travel & Expense Office if you need assistance obtaining a university card.
