Breakthrough medical research shows nanotechnology could be used to better detect and treat ectopic pregnancies, according to researchers from Oregon Health & Science University and Oregon State University. (see also KGW)
The unpredictability of dispersed camping compared to other forms of camping means that sensitive vegetation and wildlife has less of a chance to adapt, said Oregon State University recreational ecologist Ashley D’Antonio. NEW! Demonstration: On Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 2-3:30 p.m. there will be a demonstration at the MU stairs in solidarity with Iranian protesters. This demonstration is in coordination with a global community of over 100 universities. Organizers want to spread the messages of the Iranian people and raise awareness of the injustices the Iranian people are facing at the hands of the present regime. They will also honor the strength of the protesters in Iran, especially the women and girls who are fighting with all they have.

MPP defense: Leah Pratt will present “K-12 School Finance Reform: An Idaho Case Study." There have been years of stalled K-12 school finance reform efforts in Idaho, yet it was unclear what key Idaho education interest groups currently thought about how Idaho funds their public schools. Therefore, this project explored the institutional perspectives and beliefs of K-12 Idaho education stakeholders regarding the Idaho K-12 school funding formula. NEW! Driving study participants wanted: The OSU School of Civil and Construction Engineering seeks research study participants who are at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license. The study purpose is to better understand driver habits while operating a vehicle at night to increase safety on the roadway. Participants will be paid for their involvement, which requires a time commitment of approximately one hour and coming to the OSU Driving Simulator Laboratory. Free COVID tests: Free iHealth COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Tests are available on the Corvallis and Bend campuses and at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport. Each box contains two tests. While supplies last, OSU community members can pick up these self-test kits without restrictions. Please note the FDA has extended the self-test kit expiration dates by six months.
NEW! Street and sidewalk closure on Washington Way: As part of the Washington Way Improvement Project, SW Washington Way will be closed daily between SW 26th and SW 17th Streets to begin water line replacement. Work will occur Nov. 30, 2022 through Jan. 6 from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. This portion of Washington Way will reopen to vehicle traffic after 5 p.m. daily. (View map) The sidewalk on the north side of Washington Way will also be closed, and an alternate pedestrian route will be identified with signage.
