The first day of our Climate Week project rounds out with a discussion of climate issues particular to Oregon. We bring in guests from the Oregon Climate Change Research Institute at Oregon State University, its cousin Oregon Climate Service, and from the department of Environmental Science, Policy, & Sustainability Programs at Southern Oregon University.
On April 11, Oregon State University professors Shannon Lipscomb and Barbara Brody will present on the topic of resilience in children and their communities. Their Science Pub presentation is titled, “On the Road to Recovery: Promoting Resilience with Children and Early Educators.”

He'll be starting his new role on May 2 as the inaugural Director for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion for the College of Engineering at Drexel University. Harris has served as the Black Cultural Center Director the past six years.

HR email: The Human Resources Recruitment Services Team has a new email address: HRRecruitment@oregonstate.edu. We have reorganized the Recruitment teams into one unified team under the HR Service Center. We will no longer use the separate UPHR and Hovland SC Recruitment inboxes. This new email address replaces UPHR.Recruitment@oregonstate.edu and hovlandsc.recruitment@oregonstate.edu. We will be doing a soft launch effective April 1 to give our customers time to adjust before removing the previously used administrative and academic emails. Emails sent to the old inboxes will forward to the new email address until May 31. Beginning June 1, emails sent to the old inboxes will bounce back as undeliverable.

STEM AWSEM Club: Registration for STEM Academy's VIRTUAL AWSEM Club for 5th-7th graders is open. AWSEM = Advocates for Women in Science, Engineering and Math. Art-Science Student Fellowship Applications Due May 9: This one-year fellowship offers OSU students the opportunity to explore the intersection of the arts and sciences. Fellows will develop a creative project informed by engagement with lab or field research, be awarded a $1,000 stipend, have ongoing mentorship and receive a residency at Shotpouch Cabin. Free COVID tests: Free iHealth COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Tests are available around the Corvallis campus. Each box contains two tests.
