Oregon State University researchers and a team of West Coast university collaborators have received a $7.65 million grant to study the impact of smoke exposure on grapes, a project the school said will provide critical knowledge to grape growers and winery owners severely impacted by widespread wildfire smoke in recent years. The $488,657 grant will fund the project, Promoting Transboundary Recovery of Coastal Marten, and will support work by ODFW, California Department of Fish and Wildlife and Oregon State University to determine population size, distribution, habitat associations and presence of co-occurring species for marten populations in southwestern Oregon and northwestern California.

An interactive session discussing a theoretical model of women of color mentorship within higher education will provide participants with activities, reflection and discussion about radical transformation of relationship spaces. Drive-thru booster and vaccine clinic at the Benton County Fairgrounds: A drive-thru COVID vaccine clinic is taking place Oct. 26-31, from noon to 7 p.m. All vaccine brands and doses, including boosters, available and testing is also available. Meat lab: The Clark Meat Lab retail store is open Fridays from noon to 5:30 p.m. Product offerings include beef, pork and lamb retail cuts, fresh and cooked sausages, bacon, snack sticks, jerky, Beaver Classic cheese and honey, and even dog treats. Queer History Month Timeline Walk: The Pride Center and SOL: LGBTQ+ Multicultural Support Network are commemorating Queer History Month with a timeline that highlights significant moments in LGBTQIA2S+ history from 1924-2016. The timeline is posted in the display cases in the Memorial Union west mezzanine walkway and can be viewed Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. through Oct. 31.
OSU Honors College Humanities Interns Symposium: Five undergraduates will present their work in a virtual event. CTS service reductions: Due to a severe shortage of transit drivers, the Corvallis Transit System is temporarily making service reductions beginning Monday, Nov. 1.
