More than 2,100 schools in nearly 900 districts across the country have four-day school weeks, Paul Thompson, an associate professor of economics at Oregon State University who studies the impact of four-day weeks, said last September.
Researchers at Oregon State University tracked sheep grazing at an Agrivoltaic solar farm. They measured the animal’s growth, grazing habits, and water consumption with two flocks, one grazing near the solar panels and the other in an open pasture.
The American Society of Civil Engineers has announced the 2024 New Faces of Civil Engineering in the Collegiate category. New Faces include Brianna Yu, a third-year student at Oregon State University.

Women’s self defense: From noon to 4:15 p.m., Feb. 23-25, Oregon State University and the Department of Public Safety will be offering “R.A.D. Systems” Women’s Self-defense Classes on campus. This class will be 3-days (12 hours, 45 minutes in total). The R.A.D. Systems training program is nationally recognized and specializes in providing “a deeper understanding of one’s potential,” as it relates to self-defense. The class is free. Core Curriculum for OSU Managers and Supervisors: The Core Curriculum for Managers and Supervisors is a training program for all Oregon State managers, supervisors and lead workers.
