The data included records on asthma hospitalisations and the patients’ addresses. The researchers used information from PRISM Climate Group at Oregon State University to obtain temperature records at the patients’ homes every day from June to September between 2017 and 2020.
The Tualatin Mountains are informally known as Portland’s West Hills. It’s a ridge about 350 meters high — 1,148 feet — that separates the Tualatin Basin in Washington County from the Portland Basin, which includes Western Multnomah County and Clark County. The acquisition will establish a 3,111-acre working research forest owned by Oregon State University.

Yoga and Psychedelics: Historical Contexts and Contemporary Transformations. Stuart Sarbacker will discuss the relationship between the mind-body disciplines of Hindu and Buddhist systems of yoga and the use of psychoactive substances with an eye to the ways modern cosmopolitan forms of yoga have intersected with the use of substances such as cannabis and ayahuasca. 4 p.m., May 20, MU 213, Pan-Afrikan Sankofa Room.
Robert M. Storm Distinguished Lecture: The Robert M. Storm Distinguished Lecture takes place May 20 at the LaSells Stewart Center. Daniel T. McDonald-Dunn Research Forest Community Input Session: The College of Forestry invites you to the McDonald-Dunn Research Forest Community Input Session from 6-8 p.m., June 5 in PFSC 117. Remote participation available via Zoom. A new plan is being developed to guide management of the McDonald-Dunn Research Forest. After nearly two years of work, we have developed a suite of “management strategies” that will serve as the foundation for forest management. We now need to make decisions on how these strategies will be overlaid across the forest. At this session, we will provide an overview of decisions made to date and request your input on how we allocate land within the forest. Design for Social Impact: Oregon State University's Design for Social Impact (DSI) program, within the Honors College, offers transformative education for students across disciplines. DSI equips them with skills to address society's challenges through flexible, project-based curricula. Collaborating with communities and industry, students create solutions with real impact. The program now introduces the Design for Social Impact Certificate and DSI 415 Multidisciplinary Design for Social Impact course, open to all Corvallis campus students.
