CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Corvallis-OSU Symphony Orchestra will open its 112^th season with “Our Judeo-Romano-Christian Heritage” at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, in the Austin Auditorium at The LaSells Stewart Center, 875 SW 26^th Street, Corvallis.

Conductor Marlan Carlson will lead the symphony through a program celebrating the 500^th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation in 1517. The concert opens with Felix Mendelssohn’s Fifth Symphony, the “Reformation,” and continues with Ernst Bloch’s “Schelomo: Rhapsodie Hébraïque for Violoncello and Orchestra.” The program will close with Ottorino Respighi’s “Pines of Rome.”

Anne Ridlington, principal cellist of the Eugene Symphony and assistant principal cellist of the Corvallis-OSU Symphony, will appear as soloist on “Schelomo.” Ridlington, a Corvallis native, completed her bachelor of music degree at the Indiana University School of Music, where she studied with Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Helga Winold, Emilio Colon and Janos Starker.
