CORVALLIS - Oregon youths looking for something new this summer need look no farther than the campus of Oregon State University, where numerous education and sports programs on campus will offer everything from archery to zoology.

Sports camps have always been popular in the summer, and in the last few years, educational programming developed on the OSU campus has found a strong following as well.

Saturday Academy, for example, provides year-round classes and activities in science, engineering and mathematics, and emphasizes in-depth classes in the summer. High school students interested in engineering may want to check out SESEY, the Summer Experience in Science and Engineering for Youths program. Another program - JumpstART - is OSU's popular precollege visual arts workshop for high school students.

One of the most popular programs on campus is KidSpirit, which draws hundreds of area youths in grades K-8 for all kinds of fun activities.

And, of course, the university still offers top sports camps.

Below are some of the activities and scheduled dates. For information on registration, fees and programming, see OSU's Precollege Program website: oregonstate.edu/precollege or call 541-737-6166.
