CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State University this summer will begin a pair of weeklong leadership seminars, the Natural Resources Leadership Academy.
The programs will be June 18-22 and June 25-29 on the university's Corvallis campus, and will explore conflict management, communication, sustainable natural resources and leadership. OSU is recognized nationally for its work in natural resources, and this initiative will make 10 faculty members available to professionals and graduate students.
Pre-registration has begun online at http://bit.ly/ua5XNY. Also available are details about course descriptions, faculty members, tuition and other information.
"One of the unique components of the program is to provide an integrated approach to natural resources management," said Lynette de Silva, the academy director in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences.
"This includes combining courses to offer a joint field trip, providing opportunities to bring knowledge together across disciplines, and honing effective techniques to communicate, listen and think creatively to address today's natural resources challenges," she said.
