CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State University's University Housing & Dining Services will host the fourth annual "Soul Food Café: A Journey Through Culture and Cuisine," in celebration of Black History Month, on Wednesday, Feb. 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. at McNary Dining Center.

The celebration is one of many in the Journey Through Culture and Cuisine series on campus, and is being held in conjunction with OSU's Black History Month.  The Soul Food Café will honor African-American cultures and foods and will feature live blues by the Ty Curtis Band.

Tickets cost $8 and will be available at the door, or in advance from any of the University Housing & Dining Services dining centers. Dinner will be served from 5 to 7:30 p.m., with entertainment continuing until 8 p.m.

The menu will feature carved Virginia ham, Southern friend chicken, tofu Creole, collard and mustard greens with ham, Cajun catfish, bananas foster, New Orleans style beignets and other regional culinary favorites.  

The event is sponsored by University Housing & Dining in collaboration with the Lonnie B. Harris Black Cultural Center, the Black Student Union, and the Ujima Education Office.
