CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State University has been named a "Tree Campus USA" by the Arbor Day Foundation and the Oregon Department of Forestry.

This new program, now in its second year, recognizes college campuses for their excellence in tree planting, care, and stewardship.

Oregon State will receive the award during an Arbor Week tree planting at 11 a.m. on April 8. The event will be held at the southeast corner of LaSells Stewart Center. Students, staff, and faculty are invited to attend the ceremony and help plant a commemorative tree.

Students from OSU's new arboriculture class will be on hand to promote Arbor Week tree planting.
