CORVALLIS, Ore. - The four ROTC branches at Oregon State University will combine this Friday, May 5, for their 88th annual Joint Service Review.
The event begins at 10 a.m. in the intramural fields just north of Gill Coliseum, in front of Dixon Recreation Center. It is free and open to the public.
Retired Brigadier Gen. James B. Smith, a former United States Air Force fighter pilot, will be this year's reviewing officer and guest speaker. Flying F-15 and T-38 jets, he logged nearly 4,000 flight hours in the Air Force.
The annual Joint Service Review at OSU is a formal military parade featuring the Army, Navy, Marine and Air Force ROTC detachments. Its origins can be traced by as far as 1918, when the state governor reviewed the troops during World War I.
