CORVALLIS, Ore. - Discovery Days, a bi-annual science outreach program sponsored by the College of Science and College of Engineering at Oregon State University, will be held on May 2-3 in the LaSells Stewart Center.

This popular event, which is free and open to the public, allows students of all ages to explore more of the world around them with interactive exhibits and hands-on activities. They may examine live specimens, learn about areas such as nuclear engineering and radiation health physics, and develop their own questions and ideas about science.

Volunteers will be available for questions and assistance with all exhibits, and will provide their knowledge and expertise in particular areas.

Discovery Days will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 2; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3. School classes for K-12 and other large groups are invited to attend on both days by reservation only. Smaller groups and individuals are welcome anytime.

The Discovery Days website is available online at www.science.oregonstate.edu/discoverydays and includes interactive games for children to play, as well as general information for parents and teachers.
