CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State University Foundation has named Anne Ruggiero as the new director of development for the OSU College of Science.
An experienced fund-raiser, Ruggiero was most recently the director of development for the Diabetes Center at the University of California, San Francisco. She begins her new position at OSU immediately.
Prior to her position at UCSF, Ruggiero was the director of development for the university's Institute for Global Health, Basic Sciences and the Center for Health and Community, raising funds for medical research during the institution's $1.7-billion campaign. She has also worked as assistant dean for development for the Ohio University Libraries during its Bicentennial Campaign and as assistant director of development for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
"Anne Ruggiero is a talented fund-raiser with relevant experience," said Shawn L. Scoville, the foundation's senior vice president for development and campaign director. "She will be a great addition to our team here at Oregon State."
At OSU, Ruggiero will be in charge of leading fund-raising for the College of Science, the second-largest college on campus in terms of student enrollment and home to many of OSU's top researchers.
"It's such an incredibly exciting time for Oregon State and the foundation," Ruggiero said. "It will be great to work with some of the people who are the best in their fields anywhere in the world. I'm just thrilled to be part of it."
