CORVALLIS - A strong economy is helping fuel corporate recruiting drives and is pushing more than 100 employers to serve up career opportunities for Oregon State University students and alumni at the university's Spring Career Fair on Tuesday, March 2.

"We feel this is a win-win situation for both the students and the employers," said Tom Munnerlyn, OSU director of Career Services. "It's an opportunity for them to talk face-to-face and get on-the-spot feedback."

The fair starts at noon and continues until 6 p.m. in OSU's CH2M-HILL Alumni Center. Faculty and staff are also encouraged to attend the event and talk with representatives from various firms, Munnerlyn said.

More than 400 firms a year recruit on the OSU campus, Munnerlyn said, making OSU the top campus for corporate recruiting in the state.

"The economy is strong and last year was one of the best years in recruiting for college students and the trend seems to be continuing this year," Munnerlyn said.

The career fair provides an excellent opportunity for students to gather information about and interview for full-time professional employment and internship and co-op opportunities, he added.
