CORVALLIS, Ore. - An Oregon State University student from San Marcos, Calif., will direct business operations of OSU's 1998-99 Beaver yearbook.

Natalie Gould, an OSU junior, will serve as yearbook business manager. Yearbook leadership positions are nothing new to Gould - in 1996 she became OSU's first freshman to ever be appointed Beaver yearbook editor and she was reappointed to the editor's post last year.

"The past two years, I have served as the editor of The Beaver, and I am now ready for a new and different challenge," Gould said.

As business manager, Gould's work will include advertising, book sales, distribution and marketing. She was appointed by OSU's University Student Media Committee, which oversees OSU's student publications.

Gould traveled 1,200 miles from her southern California home expressly because of the OSU yearbook.

"I did a lot of research and looked into yearbooks at a lot of schools. It was a major factor in my college decision."

About 2,000 yearbooks will be sold this year at OSU, which is expecting an enrollment of more than 14,500 students.
