CORVALLIS - Oregon State University physician Dr. Lora L. Jasman, an internist practicing in Student Health Services, has earned election as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Her election recognizes Jasman's achievements in internal medicine, the specialty of adult medical care. Fellows of the college are elected upon the recommendation of other fellows and the review of the society's credentials subcommittee.

Jasman is the medical director of OSU Student Health Services and is an affiliate staff member at Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis. She is certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a recipient of the American Medical Association's Physician's Recognition Award.

A graduate of University of Idaho in Moscow, Jasman earned her medical degree from University of Washington School of Medicine, Seattle. She undertook her medical residency at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Ariz.

Jasman lives in Philomath with her husband Christopher Biermann and daughters Audra and Heidi.

The American College of Physicians, with headquarters in Philadelphia, is the nation's largest medical specialty organization. Membership is composed of more than 100,000 internal medicine physicians and medical students.
