One of the most intriguing and popular of the Greek heroes, Antigone (portrayed by Camilla Dahlin) has seen the death of her father and brothers during the fall of the city Thebes. With their deaths, control of the city falls to Kreon (Nathan Sparks), Antigone's maternal uncle, who defies the gods and denies religious rites of burial to Antigone's fallen brother.
Kreon is determined to restore order, discourage dissension and promote his own agenda. He issues an order of immediate death to anyone caught administering burial rites. Antigone, incensed by such arrogant proclamations, belies she must defy Kreon and honor her family.
Her ensuing efforts and a trial before Kreon and the Theban Elders, leads to the dramatic conclusion.
"Antigone" is directed by Margaret J. Jones, who also designed the costumes. Richard George designed the sets and lighting, Barbara Mason coordinated the movement choreography. Stage manager is Annie Fale.
