CORVALLIS - Nancy Owens Bryant, a professor in the Department of Apparel, Interiors, Housing and Merchandising at Oregon State University, has been elected a fellow of the Costume Society of America.

It is the highest honor for professionals in her field.

Bryant was cited for her international reputation as a designer and scholar, with success in both juried design and historical research. She served on the society's board for three years, and was president of the regional chapter.

Bryan has won numerous awards for her apparel designs.

OSU also has honored Bryant, who received the OSU Alumni Association's Distinguished Teaching Award in 1998.
