CORVALLIS - Students curious about university life, including financial aid, housing and admissions, will have a chance to get their questions answered at Oregon State University's Preview OSU day on Friday, Oct. 8.

Designed for high school and community college students, Preview OSU coincides with a statewide in-service day for teachers. The half-day session starts at 11:30 a.m. with registration and optional OSU tours in the campus' CH2M HILL Alumni Center.

The program begins at 1 p.m. Parent and family member sessions will be in the university's Memorial Union Ballroom with student sessions in the alumni center. For information, contact the OSU Student Orientation and Retention Program at 800-291-4192 or 541-737-7627.

Preview OSU offers students a variety of sessions with topics touching on admission to OSU, financial aid and scholarships; academic presentations; a question-and-answer session for students and parents; and campus and living group tours. Of particular interest to community college students is a session on transfer credit evaluation.

Students will have another opportunity to catch a look at campus during Beaver Open House, which is scheduled on Saturday, Nov. 13. The all-day event is designed for high school seniors, community college transfers and others interested in attending OSU. Among the highlights of Beaver Open House are opportunities to meet with current OSU students to discuss university life.

Pre-registration for both programs is advised. On-line registration is available at http://oregonstate.edu/soar.

Students unable to attend Preview OSU or Beaver Open House should call the OSU Visitor Center at 541-737-2626 or visit.osu@oregonstate.edu to speak with a TOUR - Team of Undergraduate Recruiters - coordinator and arrange a personal visit.
