Part of OSU's College of Business, the Austin Family Business Program is the second-oldest family business program in the world, Green said.
"We strive to be a strategic resource for family businesses," he said. "My family has a long history of owning and operating a variety of businesses, including some I worked in myself. Unfortunately, everything that could go wrong did and none of the businesses exist today.
"Their demise was avoidable," Green added, "had my family been able to communicate and successfully plan to operate the business for generations."
The OSU family business program also offers academic courses, workshops and seminars, and other tools to aid family business owners, managers, successors, non-family employees, and service providers understand challenges and opportunities that accompany the maintenance and growth of family businesses.
