CORVALLIS - Oregon State University will host a panel discussion on Tuesday, May 20, that explores the effects of the USA Patriot Act on the university. The free public forum begins at 4 p.m. in Memorial Union Room 208.
The panel will look at the impacts of the act on OSU's library, research grants, international education program and academic freedom.
Panel members include Bonnie Parks, serials and electronic resources librarian, The Valley Library; Rich Holdren, vice provost for research; Chris Sproul, director of international education; and Rubin Landau, a professor of physics.
The panel discussion is sponsored by OSU's Faculty For Peace & Justice, and the Department of Philosophy's Program for Ethics, Science and the Environment.
