CORVALLIS - Seven outstanding Oregon 4-H members have won scholarships awarded by the Oregon State University Extension 4-H Youth Development Program. The Oregon 4-H scholarship program annually recognizes several members for their exceptional achievements, said Mary Arnold, OSU Extension Service 4-H Youth specialist. Scholarship winners are selected based on their 4-H experiences, contributions to the community and academic record.

"The 4-H program provides scholarships to help support young people as they begin pursuing higher education, which is probably the most challenging and expensive stage of the 4-H member's life," Arnold said. "The 4-H donors who make this program possible see the 4-H scholarships for youth entering a college or university as an important investment in the future of our families and communities.

"The state 4-H program is very grateful for these scholarships and for the individuals, businesses and organizations that give to the state scholarship program," Arnold added.
