CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State University will host a workshop this Saturday, Nov. 3, for 7th- and 8th-grade girls designed to encourage them to explore science careers.

The free workshop will run from 8:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. in OSU’s MU East International Forum (behind Snell Hall) on Jefferson Way.

There will be field trips to OSU science labs to introduce girls to a variety of careers in science and engineering. Parents are welcome to attend tours and/or a parent workshop, designed to give parents tips for encouraging their daughters toward science and engineering careers.

Interested persons may register by sending an e-mail to Sylvia Harvey at srh18@comcast.net. Include the name of the student and the school, and names of parents who will be attending the event.
