CORVALLIS - Oregon State University will host more than 3,000 mothers of OSU students as the campus celebrates Mom's Weekend 2005 from Friday, April 29, through Sunday, May 1.

Most activities - including films, tours and a Renaissance Fair - are open to the public and many are free. Events are organized by OSU's Memorial Union Program Council, 541-737-6872.

Mom's Weekend favorite Bill Cosby is returning this year, but Cosby's Friday night show is sold out. Contact the OSU Ticket Office at 800-462-3287 for information.

One of the highlights of the weekend, the Renaissance Fair, starts at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and runs through 5 p.m. in the campus MU Quad.

Friday, April 29

All Day: Family admitted free to OSU Dixon Recreation when accompanied by a registered OSU student; Valley Library self-guided tour; attend class with son or daughter; Memorial Union Concourse Gallery landscape photography exhibit; bowling at MU Recreation Center.

10 a.m.: Pottery sale, MU Student Lounge, through 3 p.m.

1 p.m.: Hinsdale Wave Research Lab and Tsunami Research Lab, guided tours every 20 minutes through 4 p.m.

1 p.m.: Craft Center activities, through 10 p.m.

3 p.m.: Cash Flow game, sponsored by Cash Flow Club, Valley Library, Room 6420.

4 p.m.: Tour of Trees with OSU horticulturalist, meet at Corvallis Central Park.

4 p.m.: Climbing Center open through 10 p.m., skills session required at 4:15 p.m. or 7:15 p.m.

6 p.m.: Dinner with Mom, MU Room 109, $15.

7 p.m.: Feature film, "Finding Neverland," MU Joyce Powell Leadership Center, encore performance at 9 p.m.

8 a.m.: Registration for Pet Day 5k Fun Run and Walk, Magruder Hall parking lot.

9:30 a.m.: Tour of trees with OSU horticulturalist, MU north stairs.

9:30 a.m.: Renaissance Faire: art, gifts, crafts, MU Quad, through 5 p.m.

10 a.m.: Mom's Weekend Breakfast, MU Lounge, $10.
