CORVALLIS - Student Health Services at Oregon State University has received the highest level of accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
This is the third time the organization has received the maximum accreditation awarded for three years.
"The accreditation underscores our long-standing commitment to providing the highest possible levels of quality care to OSU students and the university community," said Dr. Lora Jasman, director of Student Health Services at OSU. "We are very proud and pleased to have been recognized with the accreditation. It is a validation of our outstanding staff and the programs and services they provide."
Student Health Services at OSU has a clinical staff of six physicians, seven mid-level medical practitioners, and nine registered nurses, plus health educators and other trained health care professionals. Access to services is provided through student health fees.
Among the services offered are comprehensive primary health care, disease prevention and treatment, and extensive health promotion for OSU students.
The visiting accreditors praised Student Health Services' quality improvement program, clinical care and documentation, laboratory processes, allied health services, and health education programs, according to Susan Poole, health services relations and communications.
