"Some of those plastic beads are going to be around potentially for decades upon decades," said Susanne Brander, associate professor in the fisheries, wildlife and conservation sciences department at Oregon State University. "We think that every piece of plastic that has ever been manufactured is still out there in some form."

A recent study by Oregon State University researchers highlighted the ways motor skills and cognitive skills develop in connection with each other in young children with autism, and found an opportunity for behavioral and physical therapists to work together to improve care.
This study, spearheaded by co-author Susanne Brander, an ecotoxicologist at Oregon State University’s Hatfield Marine Science Center, highlights a concerning trend that could have broader implications for all vertebrates, including humans.
Details on Mannix’s plan are as follows: 10. The Oregon State University Extension Service will oversee a program to accelerate the promotion of behavioral health in rural areas of Oregon. This program involves convening community conversations and coordinating follow-up actions to be taken by counties or regions.

Advances in Battery Research 2024: The College of Science’s David Ji, who researches sustainable battery technologies, will present Feb. 21 at the online symposium Advances in Battery Research 2024 organized by Technology Networks. Ji’s presentation is titled “Opportunities and challenges of aqueous metal batteries” and will encompass the large picture of energy storage, the requirements of storage batteries and results from the Ji lab regarding fundamental solutions in enabling aqueous metal batteries for storage purposes.
