"We have to develop effective, safe ways to live with Covid-19 but not let Covid-19 hijack our life or work anymore," said Chunhuei Chi, a professor of health management and policy at Oregon State University. New Trauma-Informed Yoga class from CAPE: Beginning Jan. 22, CAPE Survivor Advocacy will be hosting a trauma-informed yoga class for survivors of gender-based violence. This class is led at a gentle to medium pace. All bodies and levels of movement are welcome and modifications will be offered. Limited yoga mats are available – please bring your own mat if possible. NEW! Civil Rights through song: Join us to listen to a selection of songs that were central to the Civil Rights Movement by artists including Nina Simone, Odetta and others. CTL QT Talk — Creating an Inclusive Classroom: Difference, Power and Oppression Model. In this talk, attendees will learn about the inclusive teaching framework used by the Difference, Power and Oppression (DPO) Program. The DPO Program works with faculty across all fields and disciplines at OSU to develop inclusive curricula that addresses institutionalized systems of power, privilege and inequity in the U.S. The session will focus on providing practical reflection questions and tips for implementing the DPO framework in your own teaching practice. Nominations open for OSU Safety Award: Environmental Health & Safety is accepting nominations for the OSU Safety Award, a peer recognition program that recognizes outstanding efforts to encourage and help improve safety at OSU. Nominees must be student employees, staff or faculty members. Employees from all units are eligible, as long as they are not working in a position where safety is one of their primary responsibilities. The program includes an individual award and a team award.
