Are you “cider curious?” In a recent consumer market research study the Northwest Cider Association conducted with Oregon State University’s Food Innovation Center, researchers defined “cider curious” as “those who purchase cider on occasion but do not routinely seek out cider as their drink of choice.”
Whether delivering via cesarean or vaginally, patients' overall experiences and perceptions of childbirth are largely determined by the kind of treatment they receive from their medical providers and whether they feel seen and heard, a recent Oregon State University study has found.
One of the most important consultants on a proposed Wyoming energy project is a sheep expert from Oregon. When Florida-based BrightNight LLC decided to develop its 500-megawatt solar farm near Glenrock, Wyoming, in a way to also graze sheep on the same land, they wanted to stay true to the local landowner’s sheep herding practices. Enter Oregon State University Associate Professor Chad Higgins, the world’s foremost authority in the world on using land for both agriculture and solar power.
Moore worked alongside his wife, Charlee, to ensure future generations have resources to continue their passion. The back-to-roots style of eating they both advocated enjoys continued support at Oregon State University's College of Health and Human Sciences, where the couple funded the Moore Family for Whole Grain Foods, Nutrition, and Preventive Health.

NEW! Internationalization grant: The deadline for the 2023-24 Internationalization Grant has been extended to 5 p.m., Feb. 16. Grants of up to $5,000 are offered for projects that advance internationalization within one of three tracks, aligned with “Prosperity Widely Shared”: Research and Innovation; Global and Intercultural Learning; and Career and Workforce Development. Climate Change Anxiety Survey: Feelings of distress because of climate change have become a growing concern, especially among younger generations. Sabine Huemer, professor of practice at the School of Psychological Science at OSU, is examining climate change anxiety among OSU students to help tailor intervention programs. Amrita Menon (biology and psychology) and Isabelle Hall (biochemistry) are two undergraduate student collaborators through the URSA-Engage program. $15K of funding available: The OSU Advantage Accelerator is currently seeking applications that describe technology-based projects in any discipline that will move OSU-owned technologies closer to commercialization. Proposals should describe a project that requires $15,000 or less of funding to achieve an important milestone(s) connected to commercialization. Each project may be awarded up to $15,000 and should span six months or less, beginning in March 2024.
