At Oregon State University, the financial aid office is taking its time. Keith Raab, the head of financial aid at OSU, tells NPR they've had the conversation about provisional offers, but ultimately decided against it.
Salmon are raised at Lookingglass hatchery, then transported back and released to Imnaha to help combat threats to their population, according to Seth White, a professor in the department of Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Sciences at Oregon State University and director of the Oregon hatchery Research Center. “The Imnaha River spring Chinook Salmon population depends on hatcheries to sustain their numbers,” he told CNN in an email.
The answer currently is snow water equivalent, or SWE. Researchers at Oregon State University recently published their case for a different measurement: snow water storage. Christina Aragon, a PhD student, is principal author of the research, with guidance and assistance from David Hill, Professor of Civil Engineering at OSU.
Oregon’s largest public postsecondary schools, including Oregon State University, Portland State University and the University of Oregon are all raising tuition for the 2024-2025 school year.

NEW! “Wings” by Holly Andres: Holly Andres is a photographer and director known for her stylized cinematic scenarios. Her work has appeared in galleries and museums from Barcelona, Istanbul and Bogota, to New York, San Francisco and Atlanta with viewers drawn to her often dark and mysterious or bright and witty imagery. Andres’ photos will be on display in in Fairbanks Hall from April 8-May 19.

Hatfield Marine Science Day: Hatfield Marine Science Day is an annual science fair and open house featuring the marine science programs and research at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport. You can talk with researchers about their marine science exhibits, get a behind-the-scenes tour of the Hatfield campus, enjoy a show on the sounds of the sea, and learn about the latest advances in whale research from keynote speakers KC Bierlich and Clara Bird from the GEMM Lab's GRANITE Project. NEW! Affordable Learning Grant: The Open Educational Resources Unit is accepting proposals for the Affordable Learning Grant until April 24. Faculty can receive up to $15,000 in funding to adopt, adapt or author an open educational resource (OER) for your course. OER are openly licensed course materials that save students money and make higher education more accessible. Monthly Emergency Preparedness Topic: Flooding. Flooding occurs in Oregon due to our seasonal rainfall, summer fires, melting snow, new development and levees/dams. All influence how water is absorbed or directed downstream. Areas that have not flooded in the past may flood now due to changes that occurred somewhere else and caused a change in how the ground interacts with the water.
