Oregon State University researchers are leading an effort to refine the design and expand use of oxygen monitoring sensors that can be deployed in fishing pots to relay critical information on changing ocean conditions to the fishing industry.
“Essentially what we get to do is pay people to try different food and beverage products,” said Gutierrez, a Sensory Science Researcher for Oregon State University’s Food Innovation Center. “So flavor, texture, aroma, mouthfeel, kind of whatever they’re looking for. Give that data back to our client and they know what changes to make to their product.”

FYI Friday – OSU Assist Services and Support: This presentation on March 1 will include an overview of the operations and services provided by OSU Assist and the mobile crisis team available on the Corvallis campus. Services include resource referral and de-escalation around mental health issues, housing/food insecurity, survivor advocacy and more. Music à la Carte: Brian Quincey, viola and Denise Fujikawa, harp: This dynamic duo pairs Oregon Symphony violist Brian Quincey and Portland State University harp instructor Denise Fujikawa – partners in music and in life. Quincey has been a member of the Oregon Symphony since 1997. Fujikawa is a former member of the Sacramento Symphony, and is an active chamber musician and soloist. PRAx tickets on sale now: There’s something for everyone in the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts (PRAx) inaugural season.
