CORVALLIS, Ore. - Corvallis Mayor Biff Traber will formally recognize Indigenous People's Day in the city of Corvallis on Monday, Oct. 12, during a proclamation at the Native American Longhouse Eena Haws at Oregon State University.

The public is invited to the event, which will begin at 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

The event marks Corvallis as the first city in Oregon and the sixth in the nation to formally recognize the second Monday in October as Indigenous People's Day, which honors the history and living legacies of the first peoples of the Americas.
