CORVALLIS, Ore. - Mary Christina Wood, an environmental lawyer, will speak on "Environmental Law for the New Ecological Age" Thursday, Feb. 17, at Oregon State University as part of the Ideas Matter lecture series.

The free public talk, which begins at 7 p.m., will be held in Owen Hall 102.

Wood is the Philip H. Knight Professor of Law at the University of Oregon. She is co-author of a leading textbook on natural resources law and has published extensively on climate crisis, natural resources and native law issues. Her talk will address whether full government support is needed to protect natural resources as part of a legal principle centered on the public good.

Ideas Matter is sponsored by the OSU Department of Philosophy, The Hundere Endowment in Religion and Culture, and other campus organizations.
