CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University Extension Service and the Oregon Aquaculture Association are co-sponsoring a workshop this Saturday, May 5, called “Pond School 2007: Creating and Maintaining Healthy Ponds.”

The workshop will be at OSU’s LaSells Stewart Center. It is intended for anyone interested in ponds, ornamental and pond fishes, aquaculture, propagation and sale of ornamental or pond fishes and plants, or the distribution of information about pond management and fish health.

The day-long event will feature several speakers and a variety of breakout sessions.

Featured speakers are pond experts from various OSU colleges, Sea Grant Extension; the Oregon Aquaculture Association; the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife; Portland State University; the Oregon Department of Water Resources; the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service; the Oregon Garden and private industry.

The cost for Pond School 2007 is $85. Registration includes cost of instruction, handouts, lunch, and light refreshments. Links to online registration and other information can be found at http://www.oregonaquaculture.org/.
