CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State University’s three-day Mom’s Weekend celebration, which runs May 4-6, features a comedy show, an arts festival, food, music and Pacific-10 conference softball.
Mom’s Weekend gives OSU students a chance to share the campus and community with their mothers, but many events are free and open to the public and typically attract large numbers of community members.
Comic Caroline Rhea, who recently hosted “The Biggest Loser” on NBC, will entertain the Mom’s Weekend crowd with two shows on Saturday, May 5. Her shows, at 6:30 and 9 p.m., will be in LaSells Stewart Center. Tickets start at $28. Rhea previously was on the show “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch” and hosted her own talk show, “The Caroline Rhea Show.”
An arts festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Memorial Union Brick Mall.
The nationally-ranked OSU softball team will host three games against Arizona State at 3 p.m. Friday and at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
One of the largest Mom’s Weekend events, the fashion show, typically attracts people from throughout the region. The fashion show will be held three times on Saturday, May 5, in the MU Ballroom: 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Tickets are $12.
Also on campus on May 5 is the Department of Veterinary Medicine’s 20th annual Pet Day and Open House, located in and around Magruder Hall. It starts with a 9 a.m. 5K fun run/walk and runs through 4 p.m.
