CORVALLIS, Ore. - Five new members have been elected to the Board of Trustees of the OSU Foundation, the non-profit organization that raises funds for Oregon State University. They are Carl Casale, Pat Connolly, Ruth Lipscomb, Bond Starker and Judith Wicks Street.

The new members will serve three-year terms, helping to plan and implement a major fund-raising campaign to benefit the university's education and research programs.

"These new trustees are outstanding alumni who have valuable experience in business and community service," said OSU Foundation President and CEO Mike Goodwin. "They will be a tremendous asset to the foundation as we prepare to undertake OSU's first comprehensive campaign."

Casale of St. Charles, Mo., is Monsanto's executive vice president for North America and Latin America North. He is also chairman of the agricultural company's philanthropic arm, the Monsanto Fund. Casale is a 1983 OSU graduate in agricultural and resources economics and holds a master's in business administration from Washington University in St. Louis.

Connolly of Menlo Park, Calif., has had a 27-year career with Williams-Sonoma in San Francisco and is now the executive vice president and chief marketing officer for the specialty home furnishing retailer. Connolly graduated from OSU in 1968 with a degree in mechanical engineering and earned his master's in business administration from Stanford University.

Lipscomb of Bellevue, Wash., is a former software engineer with Microsoft. A 1983 OSU computer science graduate, Lipscomb is involved in many nonprofit organizations including Social Ventures Partners, League of Education Voters and the Washington Progress Alliance.

Starker of Corvallis, Ore., is the chairman of Starker Forests. He graduated from OSU in 1969 with a degree in forest management. Starker's family has a long history with OSU, starting with his grandfather, T.J. Starker, the founder of Starker Forests, an OSU professor and graduate of OSU's first forestry class in 1910.

Street of Portland, Ore., is the former owner of S&H Travel in Houston, Texas. She earned her bachelor's degree in home economics from OSU in 1964.
