CORVALLIS, Ore. - High school and community college students of color, or from under-represented populations, will have an opportunity to explore the potential of college when Oregon State University hosts the Kaleidoscope of Colleges and Cultures on Saturday, Nov. 11.

Kaleidoscope is an opportunity for students to get a glimpse of university life, and learn about admission standards, costs, financial aid and student housing. Participating students can also learn about OSU's academic programs, social opportunities and support services.

Campus tours also will be available.

"One of the highlights of the Kaleidoscope program is the chance for prospective students to meet with current OSU students, as well as with faculty and staff, to discuss their experiences and learn more about what life on campus is all about," said Marcus R. Langford, orientation coordinator for OSU's Student Orientation and Retention (SOAR) program.

Pre-registration for the program, which begins at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 11, is required. Registration can be done online at the SOAR website: http://oregonstate.edu/soar/visit/kaleidoscope.html

An additional program offering leadership training and academic workshops is available on the afternoon of Friday, Nov. 10. Details are available by calling the Student Orientation and Retention office at 541-737-7627.
