CORVALLIS, Ore. - A celebration of the Peace Corps is among the featured events set for Oregon State University's observance of the International Education Week, which is Nov. 13-17.

"Peace Corps: A Celebration!" will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, in the Memorial Union Lounge on campus.

The event, free and open to the public, will include a panel of Corvallis-area returned Peace Corps volunteers who will share their own perspectives on what it was like to live and work overseas.

"Voices: The World in OSU, and OSU in the World," a preview of video documentaries featuring international students and study abroad returnees discussing diversity issues in the world, will be shown from noon to 1:30 pm. Wednesday, Nov. 15, in Snell Hall Room 448. The two installments are part of an on-going series of video documentaries produced by the OSU Office of Community and Diversity.

An International Degree poster session highlighting student research will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, in the Memorial Union Student Lounge.

An international career panel discussion will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 15, in Memorial Union Room 211.

International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences in the United States.
