CORVALLIS, Ore. - Dance, games, music and an exhibition soccer game are among the highlights of Oregon State University's upcoming Carnaval Latino, set for Sunday, May 14.
Free and open to the public, the event starts at 5 p.m. in OSU's McAlexander Fieldhouse, said Jorge Ramirez, of the university's Association of Latin American Students, which is sponsoring the event.
An exhibition soccer game with local club teams opens the afternoon. Foosball tables and a variety of other games will provided throughout the evening and a Latin dance party starts at 7:30 p.m., Ramirez said.
The OSU Association of Latin American Students is affiliated with International Students of Oregon State University and is focused on the cultures of Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela.
