CORVALLIS, Ore. - Films, tours and a Renaissance Fair are among the highlights of Oregon State University's Mom's Weekend 2006 scheduled from Friday through Sunday, May 5-7.
Most activities are open to the public and many are free. Events are organized by OSU's Memorial Union Program Council, 541-737-6872. Details are also available at the Web site: http://osumu.org/events_mom.htm.
One of the highlights of the weekend, the Renaissance Fair, starts at 9 a.m. Saturday and runs through 3 p.m. in the campus MU Quad.

Friday, May 5
All Day: Admission to Dixon Recreation Center, family members get in free when accompanied by a student with a valid OSU ID card; Valley Library, self-guided tours; attend classes with son or daughter; art exhibit with 13 Oregon glass artists in MU Concourse Gallery; bowling at MU Recreation Center.
10 a.m.: Pottery sale, MU Student Lounge, through 3 p.m.
10 a.m.: ROTC Awards Ceremony and Pass-in-Review, Dixon Field.
1 p.m.: Hinsdale Wave Research Lab and Tsunami Research Lab, guided tours every 20 minutes through 4 p.m.
1 p.m.: Stained glass workshop, Craft Center, pre-register at 541-737-2937, $5.
1 p.m.: Crafts with Mom, some studio restrictions apply, information, 541-737-2937.

8:45 p.m.: Screening of PG-rated 2005 feature film "Pride and Prejudice," based on Jane Austen's novel about five sisters in Georgian England. MU Journey Room. Encore performance at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

All Day: MU Concourse Gallery art exhibit with 13 Oregon glass artists; family admitted free to OSU Dixon Recreation when accompanied by a registered OSU student; Valley Library self-guided tours; Pet Day with games, exhibits, petting zoo, tours at OSU College of Veterinary Medicine, Magruder Hall.
7:30 a.m.: Registration for Pet Day 5k Fun Run and Walk, Magruder Hall parking lot.
9 a.m.: Mom's Weekend Buffet Brunch, through 11 a.m., MU Lounge, $10.
9 a.m.: Beginning climbing class, no experience necessary, Dixon Climbing Center.
9 a.m.: Renaissance Demonstration, through 3 p.m., MU Quad.
