CORVALLIS - A multicultural health fair, featuring more than two dozen information booths and free health screening opportunities, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, in Oregon State University's Memorial Union Ballroom.

Free and open to the public, the fair will provide information concerning health disparities and the various alternative medical practices among different racial and ethnic groups.

Awareness booths will provide information about tobacco use, nutrition, private health care and insurance, organ donor programs, bone marrow donations, substance abuse, sexually transmitted disease, dental health, mental health, hypertension, diabetes, women's health, men's health, and vision.

Screenings for blood glucose and blood pressure, AIDS and depression will be available. Acupuncture, self-defense training, traditional healing, stress management, aerobic exercise, food, games and prizes will also be offered.

The event is sponsored by the OSU Minority Education Office, Student Health Services, International Students of OSU, College Assistant Migrant Program, College of Science, National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the College of Health and Human Sciences.
