CORVALLIS - Mike Gamroth, a professor of animal sciences at Oregon State University and dairy specialist with the OSU Extension Service, has received the National Association of County Agricultural Agents Achievement Award.

He recently was honored at the association's 90th annual meeting and professional improvement conference in Buffalo, N.Y. OSU Extension Service peers nominated Gamroth for the award.

Gamroth has been an area dairy and poultry agent, district dairy agent, state Extension dairy specialist and interim associate director at OSU over his 32-year career. He concentrates his research and educational programs on environmental issues important to a viable dairy industry.

"His enthusiasm and dedication are appreciated by his peers and clientele alike," said Kelvin Koong, interim dean and director of the OSU Extension Service.
