CORVALLIS - The spring session of Discovery Days will be held April 12-13 at Oregon State University, featuring sea creatures, a "world of reptiles," scientific experiments and other demonstrations.
The popular K-12 outreach event is hosted by the colleges of science, agricultural sciences, and engineering, and will be at the LaSells Stewart Center. Interactive displays and collections, both live and preserved, have been developed by students and faculty of the departments of chemistry, geosciences, microbiology, chemical engineering, fisheries and wildlife, and the Hatfield Marine Science Visitor Center. Brad's World will also provide live exhibits in zoology.
Volunteers help with the hands-on experiences, providing their knowledge and expertise. Discovery Days provides education about natural history, life cycles, our relationship with other species and the environment, physical sciences, and engineering.
The event is free and open to the general public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13. School classes for K-12 and other large groups are invited to attend on both days by reservation only. Smaller groups and individuals are welcome any time.
