CORVALLIS - Applications for Fulbright grants to finance graduate study or research abroad in academics or the performing or creative arts are now available at Oregon State University's Office of International Programs.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and hold bachelor degrees or an equivalent by the time they begin their Fulbright study, but creative or performing artists can substitute four years of training or study for the degree requirement. Candidates in medicine must have professional credentials in their field.

For more information, applicants should visit the Fulbright U.S. Student Program Web site at www.iie.org/fulbright. Students currently enrolled at OSU should contact Marit Legler, Fulbright Program adviser, at 541-737-3772 or marit.legler@orst.edu for application forms and further information. Applications must be submitted in full to Legler by the campus closing date of Oct. 7 in order to be received by the Institute of International Education by the Oct. 21 national deadline.

The Fulbright Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Financial support is provided by an annual appropriation from Congress to the Department of State and by participating governments and by host institutions in the United States and abroad.
