CORVALLIS - A free schedule of spring family business workshops set throughout the state is available from Oregon State University's Austin Family Business Program. To request the schedule, register for events, or get more information, contact the Austin Family Business Program at 800-859-7609 or visit the program website at www.familybusinessonline.org. Cost for family business events range from $20-$150 per person.

Workshop subjects include: "Family Business Basics", which deals with challenges facing family business owners including succession, finances, and balancing relationships; "Business Killers" focuses on how to avoid mistakes that can destroy family businesses; "Linking Vision to Strategy with a Family Business Scorecard" introduces family business operators to a new tool for achieving maximum potential in business development, management, and succession planning.

Since 1985, the Austin Family Business Program has helped Oregon's family-owned businesses survive and thrive under the leadership of future generations. The program offers academic courses, workshops and seminars, and other tools to aid families in their business operations and planning.
