CORVALLIS - Air Force ROTC Detachment 685 at Oregon State University will host the university's 85th annual Joint Service Review this Friday, May 2, in the Memorial Union Quad.

The event, which begins at 11 a.m., is free and open to the public.

The review is a formal military parade featuring the Navy, Marine, Army and Air Force ROTC detachments from OSU. Its origins can be traced back as far as 1918, when Gov. Withycombe, former dean of the Agricultural School at Oregon Agricultural College, first reviewed the troops during World War I.

Reviewing this 85th annual event will be Major General Thomas A. O'Riordan, Commander, Air Force Personnel Center at Randolph Air Force Base in Texas.
